“It may
not be too long before you hear the songs of Eileen Bernstein on the radio” –
Baltimore Sun. “It’s the storytelling that draws you into each song” –
Baltimore Jewish Times. Her song, “She’s Got Her Way”, won Song
of the Year’s international songwriting contest in the country music category
for May 2004. In September 1996, “The Lake ‘Cross the Way” won
the Future Charters contest sponsored by Songwriter’s Monthly magazine.
Eileen’s
musical influences include Sheryl Crow, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Joni Mitchell,
Martina MacBride, Alan Jackson, Gretchen Wilson, John Denver, Journey, Foreigner
and Chicago. She writes, sings and plays country/rock/pop tunes that cover the
gamut of life experiences. Training in classical piano, guitar, flute and
acoustic bass helps her weave interesting melodies. Eileen has performed on both
guitar and keyboard at the Artomatic Arts Festival in Washington DC, the
Dorchester Arts Festival, Columbia Lakefront Festival, College Perk Coffeehouse,
Caribou Coffee in Olney, The Coffee Beanery in Annapolis, Red Rocks Café in
Centreville,VA and in the Music Matters Showcase series at various local venues.
